Sara Aue Sobol began her photography journey as a teenager in Italy, seeking a way to express herself within a strict societal framework. Her art became a sanctuary where she could explore questions about shared humanity and the depth of human emotions. At the age of 19, she relocated to Copenhagen to attend Fatamorgana, the school of art and documentary photography. Simultaneously, she worked as a studio assistant and darkroom printer for Jacob Aue Sobol, enriching her artistic experience.
Following her studies, Sara embarked on a significant journey through Russia that lasted four months. This transformative experience is now being developed into a book titled "Tell My Love Now." She continued her investigations into emotional complexity through projects in Mexico and the United States, as well as within her home in Denmark.
Throughout her career, the exploration of feelings and the intricate nature of our emotional and psychological existence has remained the core of her work. Balancing her professional life, Sara is also a mother of two and a business partner to her husband, Jacob Aue Sobol, embracing various roles while contributing to the world of photography.
